Volunteer Opportunities
The volunteers of Whatcom County Parks & Recreation serve over 60,000 hours annually in the parks, trails and senior centers. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities available.

Training and Work Conditions

If selected to volunteer your supervisor will acquaint you with the area you will be volunteering in, staff, and your specific duties. Hours for most volunteer positions are flexible and will vary depending upon your availability and park needs. The amount of time you volunteer is mutually agreed upon prior to starting.

All volunteers are required to pass a criminal background check. Job duties are matched to the interests and abilities of the volunteer. There are several types of volunteer positions available.
