    The On-Site Sewage System Program has regulatory oversight for all on-site sewage systems in Whatcom County.

    The Living Environment Program Staff work towards reducing risks through plan review, inspections, investigations and education.

  5. Solid Waste Management

    The Solid Waste Management Division of the Health Department is responsible for waste prevention, economically efficient recycling and disposal systems, litter control, hazardous waste education and disposal opportunities, and the monitoring of the county's closed landfills.

  6. Solid Waste Compliance

    The Environmental Health Division's Solid Waste Program performs a wide variety of activities to monitor and assure the proper handling and disposal of solid waste in Whatcom County.
