Emergency Service Outage - Lummi Island Ferry 3/30/17

Whatcom County Public Works would like to inform the public of necessary repairs to the Gooseberry Point Dock as a result of our ongoing electrical issues. Accordingly on Thursday, 3/30/17 the Whatcom Chief will shut down operations early, at 11:20 p.m.

Lake Whatcom Boulevard is now OPEN to traffic.

Work has been completed on the rock slide area in the 2500 block of Lake Whatcom Boulevard and it is now safe for traffic to use the roadway.

COUNTY ROAD SHOULDER HERBICIDE PROGRAM TO BEGIN

The Public Works Department is beginning the 2017 Road Shoulder Herbicide Program. 250 miles of roads are scheduled for seasonal treatment. Lawns and yard areas may have a minimum 12” wide strip treated to aid in drainage and minimize pavement damage.
