Precinct
Name Changes
On
June 21st, 2005 the Whatcom County Council
approved the Auditor's request to rename all of Whatcom County's
precincts. This change from Township names to numbers allows our office, candidates, committees, the political
parties and others interested in data processing the enhanced
capability to track voting vs. registration statistics.

Political & Taxing District Maps |
|
Whatcom County has
many political and taxing districts. "Political"
means districts that are strictly representative in nature
such as Congressional and Legislative. "Taxing"
district refers to those districts such as School, Fire and
Water that produce a tangible service to the residents of
the area. We sometimes refer to them as "Minor Taxing
Districts".
