Informational updates and situation reports will be provided,
when the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is activated.
Whatcom County
Incident Hotline
(360) 738-4551
Whenever there is an event that you need to
know about, the Division of Emergency Management will activate
this hotline. Intended for public information, the hotline
might be activated for "in-progress" events such as:
-
Earthquake
-
Hazardous material incidents
-
Ongoing flooding
-
Or potential events, such as conditions that could lead to
flooding.
The immediate need to issue emergency public information or
instructions will result in the activation of the local
Emergency Alert System (EAS). KGMI (AM 790) is the primary
EAS station for the Whatcom County area. All other
stations in the county will also carry the EAS messages when
they are issued.
Whenever you have an emergency that requires a response from
fire, emergency medical or law enforcement professionals,
dial 9-1-1.
During community emergencies, however, the fire department,
law enforcement and other agencies may need every
available telephone line to initiate help and rescue
procedures. Therefore, we ask that you use the telephone only
when necessary.
