What is the best time to call for reservations?
Summer Season Office Hours:

Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend

  • 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Holidays
  • 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. weekdays

Spring and Fall Season Office Hours:
9:00 am to 5:00 pm Weekends, from opening of fishing season through Memorial Day Weekend and from Labor Day Weekend through the close of fishing season (October 31).

Winter Season, Office Closed.
Reservations are taken by phone from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.


When are we open for camping?
Silver Lake Park is open year round for camping and day-use however, not all of the campsites have water in the winter.

When are the boats available for renting?
Rental boats are available during the fishing season only, which is from the last Saturday in April till Oct. 31.

What kind of fish are in the lake?
Rainbow Trout, Cutthroat Trout, Largemouth Bass, Bullheads and Sculpin.

What works best for catching fish at Silver Lake?
Depends on whom you ask. Worms, eggs, lures, flies, patience, the right facial expression, etc., etc., etc.

Is there anything you can do to prevent "swimmers itch'?
Yes, avoid swimming in weedy areas, swim for short periods of time, do not air dry, towel dry vigorously immediately upon leaving the water. Don't feed the ducks and geese.
