| Welcome to the Whatcom County Permit Center, a one-stop location, where staff is readily available to coordinate and assist with questions regarding structural development, county land use regulations, the permitting process, natural resource regulations, encroachment questions and any other land use or building questions.
Permit Center staff can provide assistance in researching, planning, and reviewing construction projects proposed in unincorporated Whatcom County. Staff can also provide specific information or records for a particular property. Staff's goals are to assist you with your permit applications and to direct you to knowledgeable department staff members with the expertise to best answer various questions. We strongly encourage you to stop in at our office at the most preliminary stages of plan development so your permit is processed in a fast, timely manner.
Appointments are only necessary for submittal of residential and commercial building permit applications and questions are welcome any time during the hours of operation.
