Whatcom County Planning Commission's Recommendations:
The Whatcom County Planning Commission has completed their recommendations regarding the Bellingham Subarea Land Supply Analysis,Land Use Policies, and UGA zoning. The Land Supply Analysis recommends the 20-year forecasted populations be accommodated within the current city limits, UGA, with the addition of the Queen Mountain Five-Year Review Area.
Whatcom County Planning Staff has mad a recommendation on the Land Supply Analysis. Recommendations on the proposed Land Use Policies and UGA zoning are being developed.
The City of Bellingham has completed their recommendations regarding the Bellingham Subarea Land Supply Analysis, Land Use Policies, and UGA zoning. The Land Supply Analysis recommends the 20-year forecasted population be accommodated through the addition of all Five-Year Review Areas, except Toad Lake, and the addition of two 40-acre parcels adjacent to the King Mountain Five-Year Review Area.
The Five-Year Review Areas are analysis areas for potential incluseion into the Bellingham UGA if necessary to accommodate the 20-year projected population.
