Mission 
Whatcom County Public Works-Stormwater works to protect water resources, improve water quality, and reduce impacts from stormwater runoff in Whatcom County. We implement stormwater programs and build capital improvement projects in target watersheds and lead Whatcom County’s NPDES Phase II stormwater program.

What We Do Every Day
Stormwater staff develop
plans, implement work programs, manage studies, provide
support to citizen committees, lead and participate on multi-agency
teams, and create informational materials on water issues
in the County.
We also
work with other County staff from Health, Public
Works, Planning
and Development Services, and Cooperative
Extension to ensure an integrated approach to water issues throughout
the County.
