Whatcom County marriage records go back to 1890. A certified copy of your marriage certificate is required for social security name changes, passport applications, etc., and can be obtained in person, by mail, or requested by phone. If the request is made by phone, a credit or debit card is required for payment (a Vitalchek convenience fee applies).
 
Requirements
The license must have been issued by Whatcom County. You will need the names of the couple at the time of marriage and the approximate date of the marriage. Requests by mail should be sent with the required fee along with a self-addressed stamped envelope to:
