Bridge No. 249 over Anderson Creek on Roberts Road will be replaced with a new precast pre-stressed concrete voided slab bridge. Whatcom County was awarded $1,387,170 in federal Bridge Replacement Advisory Committee (BRAC) funds to use towards this bridge replacement project. The total project cost is estimated to be $1,950,000.
Project design, permitting and real estate work is now complete and construction of this project is expected to begin in May of 2018 with construction continuing through November of 2018.
Robert Road will be closed at the bridge during construction with a signed detour in place. The detour route will utilize a currently closed portion of Robert Road between Martin Road and Central Road. This section of Roberts Road will be closed again once construction is complete.
