Recreate Responsibly

Please help us prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our community by wearing a mask, social distancing, and staying home when you are ill. Here are some ways to help you stay healthy while enjoying all the beautiful outdoor spaces Whatcom County has to offer.

Before you go...

  • Know what to expect: Check to ensure your destination is open and that you know what to expect. While a park may be open, some things may be operating differently than usual due to staffing levels or other restrictions.
  • Come prepared: While all Whatcom County restroom facilities will be cleaned and sanitized on a regular schedule, visitors are encouraged to bring their own soap, water, hand sanitizer and toilet paper, as well as cloth face covering.
  • Enjoy the outdoors when healthy: If you are not feeling well or have symptoms of fever, cough, or shortness of breath, stay home and adventure another day.

When you are there...

  • Practice Social Distancing: Keep 6 feet of distance between you and those outside of your immediate household. Limit gatherings to 5 or less unrelated persons and avoid crowds. Be prepared to change your plans or come back later if an area is looks crowded.
  • Follow the rules: Please follow all rules to reduce the need for close interactions with park staff.
  • Leave no trace: Make sure to pick up all garbage, including disposable gloves and masks.
