Tyler Byrd is currently serving his second term on the Whatcom County Council, representing County Council District 3. His first term began January 2018 and ends January 2026.  
 
In 2023, Councilmember Byrd is Council Vice-Chair. He is also a member the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee and the Planning & Development Committee. In addition, he represents the County Council on the Bellingham Regional Chamber of Commerce.
