Lake Samish

The Lake Samish watershed is located in the southwest corner of Whatcom County. The 816-acre lake offers important fish and wildlife habitat, valuable recreation opportunities, and is the water supply for about 95% of the watershed’s 1,300 residents.  Whatcom County Council adopted the Lake Samish Comprehensive Stormwater Plan in 2014. A Flood Control Zone District Subzone for Lake Samish provides funding to manage lake water levels to meet minimum flow requirements in Friday Creek, which flows from Lake Samish to the Samish River in Skagit County.
