This project will repave East Smith Road between Hannegan Road and Mount Baker Highway (SR 542). Some notable aspects of this project:
The Everson/Goshen Road and East Smith Road roundabout will be converted back into a four-way stop. Traffic accidents have increased with the current roundabout, which was too small to be a permanent solution.
This project will include a fish passage culvert between Sand Road and SR 542 that will close this section of E. Smith Road for several weeks in July.

This project proposes to asphalt paving structural overlay East Smith Road from Hannegan Road to SR-542, included as part of the project will be intersection improvements at East Smith Road and Everson/Goshen Road; and a culvert replacement between Sand Road and SR-542.
The intersection improvements will convert the current temporary mini-roundabout back to a four-way stop controlled intersection. The traffic accidents have increased with the current roundabout configuration and the configuration was never sized appropriately to be a permanent solution at this intersection.
