Summary

This project scope includes regrading ditches and the replacement of an existing 12" diameter culvert crossing under the south end of Semiahmoo Drive with a new 30" diameter culvert to improve the stormwater conveyance and reduce flooding. The project shall also reconstruct the stormwater outfall conveyance system from the southern portion of Semiahmoo Drive to the Strait of Georgia, which was damaged during the November 2021 extreme rainfall event.

This project will improve the stormwater conveyance system at the south end of Semiahmoo Drive by upsizing the cross culvert to reduce flooding and increase traffic safety, and reconstruct the outfall conveyance system to the Strait of Georgia, which was damaged during the November 2021 extreme rainfall event.

Project Schedule

The Semiahmoo Drive cross culvert design is complete, and the outfall conveyance system design and permitting is currently underway. It is anticipated the project will be advertised for bid and constructed in 2025.
