Silver Lake Park provides a wide variety of recreation opportunities just 40 minutes east of Bellingham. With boating, fishing, boat rentals, and camping in three campgrounds this foothills park is a popular family destination.
There is no cell service or Wi-Fi at Silver Lake Park
Camping season at Silver Lake runs from mid April through the end of October. Silver Lake Park has two RV campgrounds with water and electric hookups, one tent campground with no hookups, and a group camp suitable for RVs. Each campground offers a different experience.
Reservations are recommended, but we do have a limited number of first come/first serve sites.
Reservations open the first business day of December at 9:00am for the following calendar year.
Six lakefront cabins and the Lakeside Lodge include beds with vinyl-covered mattresses, refrigerators, oven/stoves, sinks, and propane fireplaces. There is also one rustic camping cabin without a kitchen located in the Maple Creek Campground. The Lakeside Lodge and lakefront cabins are available for rent year-round. Rates vary by cabin.
One ADA accessible cabin and the Lakeside Lodge include a restroom and shower.
Up to two pets (dogs and cats only) are allowed in all cabins except the Shuksan Cabin, with an additional fee.

Silver Lake offers an indoor day lodge and a variety of picnic shelters to meet your needs from small celebrations to large company picnics.
With lake and mountain views on three sides and a large cozy fireplace, the Silver Lake Day Lodge is a beautiful setting for weddings, reunions, retreats, business seminars or just gathering friends together for a party. Maximum capacity 97.
Day Lodge Rental Details
Centrally located between Maple Creek Campground and the Lodge, this picnic shelter is ideal for larger groups. Maximum capacity 75.
Maple Creek Picnic Shelter Rental Details
The Cedar and Fir Picnic Shelters are located near the Cedar Campground and Cabin area. These small picnic shelters (for up to 12 people) are near an open field. Each shelter has a built in charcoal BBQ grill and one covered picnic table.
Cedar & Fir Picnic Shelters Rental Details
When camping at Red Mountain you are able to reserve the picnic shelters centrally located in the campground. The two shelters are tucked into the woods on the edge of a large meadow at the foot of Red Mountain. Each shelter features a serving counter, stove top, sink, wood burning fireplace, charcoal BBQ, and picnic tables. Maximum capacity 25.
Red Mountain Picnic Shelters Rental Details
A series of trails that connects the three main campgrounds and day use areas.

Hike under the quiet forest canopy at Silver Lake Park with access points near Cedar, Maple Creek and Red Mountain campgrounds.
Moderate, 1.5 mile loop
This equestrian friendly trail takes you from Red Mountain Campground to the southernmost section of Silver Lake Park..
Moderate, 3.4 mile loop
Silver Lake is a favorite Whatcom County fishing and boating destination. We have several boats available to rent at the Park Office during peak season including rowboats, canoes, 2-seat kayaks, pedal boats, and stand up paddle boards.
Boat Rental Information
There is a boat launch inside the park near the main parking area. There is also a Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife boat launch at the north end of the lake off Camp Black Mountain Road.
Parking at the WDFW boat ramp requires a Washington State Discover Pass
Whatcom County Boating Code 11.32.030 (Silver Lake has a 10 horsepower motor restriction)
