Boundary Review Board

Purpose

The Boundary Review Board reviews, upon request, (RCW 36.93.100) and makes decisions concerning boundary changes, including annexation, specific water sewer extension, incorporation, dissolution and disincorporation of jurisdictions and creations, partial mergers and consolidations of special purpose districts.

Meetings

  • The board meets as needed, and at least twice yearly
  • Meeting location: 314 E. Champion Street, Bellingham

Members

The Boundary Review Board has 5 members.

  • 2 members independently selected by the Governor
  • 1 member from the nominees of the individual mayor of the cities and towns within Whatcom County
  • 1 member from the nominees by the Executive, confirmed by Council
  • 1 member selected by the Boundary Review Board from nominees of special purpose districts lying wholly or partly within Whatcom County

 Term Length and Term Limit

  • 4 years
  • No term limit
