Fire Marshal

Responsibilities


The Fire Marshal’s Office team works as part of the Building Services Division and in partnership with the Sheriff’s Office and the county fire districts to provide a wide spectrum of fire prevention and building safety services.

The Fire Marshal’s Office:
  • Conducts annual fire and life safety inspections
  • Conducts fire and arson investigations
  • Issues permits for sprinkler and alarm systems, above ground and underground fuel tank removal / installation / repair, firework displays, fireworks stands, open burning, and special events
  • Provides plan review for land use and commercial construction
