This project will replace an older 2-span 62-ft bridge with a new 100-ft single-span concrete girder bridge over Anderson Creek along Goshen Road. Due to environmental permit acquisition timelines, construction will begin in the summer of 2025, and Goshen Road will be closed in both directions at the bridge to accommodate construction. A signed detour will be in place.
The project design is currently at the 90% design stage. Whatcom County has been awarded approximately $5.0 million in Federal BRAC funds for this project that are in the process of being obligated.
Environmental permitting and real estate work are underway. The project will be advertised for competitive bids in fall 2024 once all environmental permits and real estate work are completed.
