Flood Control Zone District Advisory Committee

Purpose

The Advisory Committee assists and make recommendations to the Flood Control Zone District Board of Supervisors in performing flood damage repairs, maintenance and improvements, and to minimize future further flood damage through prevention and management on the Nooksack River, its watershed and the other watersheds within Whatcom County.

Meeting Information

  • The Advisory Committee generally meets the 2nd Thursday of the month, 7-9 p.m., Meetings are held remotely.
  • Meetings are open to the public. Community members who attend may provide public comment on issues related to flood issues in Whatcom County.

Term Information

    • Geographic area representative terms are 4 years, 2 full term limit, and 1 year separation required after 2 terms. 
    • Special district and impacted cities representative terms are 1 year and have no term limit.
    • Committee alternate terms are 6 years.
