Shoshanah Epstein

Shoshanah Epstein is a senior deputy public defender in Whatcom County and joined the office in 2022.  Ms. Epstein graduated from the University of New Mexico School of Law cum laude in 2009, earning the Margaret Keiper Dailey award for awareness of social problems, concern and dedication to provide equal justice for all.  Previously an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter and a medical assistant, Ms. Epstein has done criminal trial work in New Mexico, for the Northern Marianas Islands (Saipan, Rota) and in Cowlitz County, Washington.  Other legal work includes disability advocacy in Chicago, representing kids in foster care, working as a mediator for state courts, and one year as a water lawyer.
