The Whatcom Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills. Whatcom County SAR Council (includes Bellingham Mt Rescue, Summit to Sound, 4x4 Unit, WECG, Dive Rescue, and Snowmobile), is a private organization activated by the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office, providing technical consulting and assistance in the field of search and rescue.
