Nurse-Family Partnership is a proven method of support for 1st-time moms. Through Nurse-Family Partnership new moms and their families are supported by a nurse until the 1st child is 2 years old.
Whatcom County Health Department’s Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN) staff works with community partners to improve the local system of care for children and youth with special needs.
Adopting healthy behaviors such as eating nutritious foods, being physically active, and avoiding tobacco use can prevent or control the devastating effects of chronic diseases. Our Chronic Disease Prevention program focuses on supporting these three healthy habits to increase community well-being through environmental changes, healthy policies, and community partnerships.
