The Primary Election results were certified August 21, 2018.  There will be a mandatory manual recount of the 2nd Congressional District beginning Wednesday, August 29, 2018, County Auditor Debbie Adelstein announced.  Election staff will begin pulling and sorting ballots for the recount starting Saturday, August 25, 2018, at 8:00 am. The recount will involve Whatcom, Skagit, Snohomish, Island, and San Juan counties. State statute requires a mandatory manual recount when the difference in votes between two candidates is fewer than 1,000 votes and less than ¼ of 1 percent.  A complete schedule of Opening Board and counting center activities will be available on the Auditor’s website.
