Whatcom County registered voters are reminded to vote and return their ballot by Tuesday, November 6.  A stamp is not required if returning your ballot through the mail; the State has agreed to pay the postage in an effort to increase voter participation. Although a voter won’t need to use a stamp, the ballot must have a postmark no later than November 6 to be counted, Auditor Debbie Adelstein said.  Voters are encouraged to check the last collection time posted on the mailbox if waiting until Election Day to mail their ballot.  Ballots deposited after the last collection time on Election Day will not have a valid postmark and can’t be counted.

Voters may still return their ballot in an official ballot drop box.  All 18 drop box locations are open and are listed on the insert enclosed with the ballot, in the Voters’ Pamphlet, or on our website at www.whatcomcounty.us/auditor. Ballots deposited in a drop box also don’t need a stamp and are open until 8:00 pm on Election Day.
