We’re working closely with partners to connect those in our community who are unsheltered to shelter facilities during this cold weather period. There is currently still capacity at Lighthouse Mission Drop-In Center and additional space for women at the Fountain Community Church. Check-in for both shelters is at the Drop-In Center at 1013 W. Holly St., which is open 24/7.
Additional shelter options are:
- Emergency Shelter at Maritime Heritage Park Pavilion: The City of Bellingham has also opened up a temporary shelter at the pavilion at 500 W Holly St. from 7:00pm – 7:00am daily. This shelter is for men only and has spaces available.
- Bellingham Public Library Day Center: The Bellingham Library is continuing day center service for guests of the Fountain Community Church’s women’s shelter, in partnership with City of Bellingham, Whatcom County, and the Opportunity Council. The day center is in the library’s Lecture Room and is open as needed from 7:00am – 7:30pm seven days a week.
For assistance with basic needs such as food and housing referrals, the Opportunity Council’s Community Resource Center at 1111 Cornwall is open Monday – Friday from 12:00-4:00pm. They are also available by phone at (360)734-5121 or 1(800)649-5121.
