Frontier Communications has notified Whatcom County that they will be making emergency repairs to fiber beginning at 11:00 PM tonight (July 25th) and ending no later than 6:00 AM tomorrow (July 26th) morning.  This will impact the ability of many in our county to call 911 via a traditional landline telephone, but people will continue to be able to call 911 via (360) 676-6911, and via cellphone.  

The following communities will be impacted during this time: 

• Acme
• Blaine
• Birch Bay
• Deming
• Everson
• Laurel
• Lynden
• Maple Falls
• Sumas

Not all communities will be down at the same time.  Frontier Communications is, and will remain, in contact with 911 and will advise when repairs are complete and/or if there is a change in their repair schedule.  

This emergency repair is required due to a motor vehicle accident that damage a telephone pole.
