[ARCHIVED] Temporary Closure of Restaurants, Bars & Entertainment Facilities

The Whatcom County Health Department and Whatcom County Executive’s Office support Governor Jay Inslee’s action to temporarily shut down restaurants, bars, and entertainment and recreational facilities statewide, starting tomorrow, March 16.

“These actions will help to limit the spread of COVID-19 in our community,” said Whatcom County Executive Satpal Sidhu. “We will continue our preparation to meet the challenges presented by COVID-19, including the economic impacts of closures and other social distancing measures. Even as we take these unprecedented actions, our message to the public remains simple: plan and prepare, but don’t panic.”

More details about the statewide closures will be released in a joint announcement from the Governor and King County officials on Monday morning, March 16. To read the Governor’s full statement, go to http://bit.ly/SocialDistancingWA.
