Ferry Pass Purchases Take Longer During COVID-19 Restrictions

We care about the safety and health of our passengers and crew. We’ve put together a few reminders for our ferry travelers related to COVID-19 restrictions.

Online Ticket Sales:

  • Please do not wait until the last minute to purchase a punch card.
  • Online ferry passes take about 2-3 working days to process, plus time for shipping. We estimate it takes around two weeks to receive punch cards in the mail, from the time of purchase to receipt of the punch card. Please plan accordingly.
  • Cashless sales will remain in effect until all COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
  • Ticket sales at the Civic Building are suspended until Phase 3 of the Governor’s Return to Work guidance.

Ferry Schedule:

  • We are balancing COVID-19 safety requirements and loss of service due to the virus.
  • Crews must have enough time, space, and flexibility to clean and social distance for their safety and the safety of all of our passengers.
  • Crews are making additional trips as needed beyond the scheduled COVID-19 sailing times, provided that it is safe to do so.
  • These additional as-needed sailings bring our total number of sailings close to our original sailing schedule in terms of frequencey:
    • Original day schedule – 21 round trips/day
    • COVID day posted schedule –13 round trips/day
    • COVID day actual – on average 19 round trips/day
  • We expect to see changes in ridership as the weather improves and COVID-19 restrictions lessen. We will work with the crews to evaluate when to make the next sailing schedule change. Any changes must still providing the safest environment for passengers and crew to operate in.

We encourage passengers to plan ahead if they have a time-sensitive trip or deadline. As always, safety is our highest priority.
