Public Works Gravel on Lummi Island to be Used for Additional Projects

Whatcom County Public Works has had a number of people ask about purchasing potential surplus gravel from our island maintenance projects. A large portion of the gravel we brought over to the island was used for chip seal road work. Now that the chip seal project is largely complete, we have additional projects on the island that will use the remaining amount of gravel.

At this time, we do not expect to have any surplus gravel after project work is completed, and that means we will not have any available for sale.

We know that getting construction supplies like gravel to the island can be difficult for residents. We are sorry that this surplus option will not be available to you.
