Leeward Way Drainage Improvement Construction Starts in October

Henifin Construction, LLC will construct stormwater improvements along Leeward Way to reduce standing water on the roadway during heavy rains. The work is scheduled to start on Monday, Oct. 5, the roadwork will begin at Leeward Way and Southgate Road, and will continue north about 250 feet. Project improvements include regrading and resurfacing a portion of Leeward Way, installing catch basins, 300 feet of new drain pipe, and a new stormwater pipe outfall to the beach.

What to Expect:

  • Drivers should expect delays; traffic will often be reduced to one lane with flagged traffic control.
  • Project is expected to start Monday, Oct. 5, and continues for about five weeks.
  • Approximate working hours are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM weekdays.
  • Weather and other factors could affect the project schedule and hours.
