[ARCHIVED] COVID-19 mobile testing in Lynden closed this afternoon due to poor air quality

Due to increasingly poor air quality, Whatcom Unified Command and the Whatcom County Health Department have decided to close the drive-thru testing operations this afternoon. Dr. Greg Stern, Whatcom County Health Officer, recommended that testing be postponed in order to protect those scheduled for testing, as well as staff, from unhealthy air quality.

The testing scheduled from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. today at the Sikh Temple at 176 East Pole Road in Lynden is cancelled. This morning’s scheduled testing at Bender Fields in Lynden from 9 a.m. to 12 noon will continue as scheduled.

Individuals with appointments will be notified of cancellations and be asked to register for an appointment at a later date. If symptoms worsen, individuals should contact their healthcare provider. The goal is to reopen tomorrow (Saturday) for testing at Civic Field in Bellingham, but a final decision will be contingent on air quality.

Please monitor this website - whatcomcounty.us/covidtesting - or the Health Department Facebook page for any changes to the testing schedule.
