Electrical Issues at Lummi Island Dock Cause Ferry Schedule Delays

Electrical issues at the Lummi Island dock are causing ferry schedule delays. County crews are on-site and assessing the situation. The ferry is still operating, but not able to maintain the posted schedule at this time. Riders should expect delays. Additional vehicle weight restrictions are in place at this time, with the maximum allowed vehicle weight on the ferry limited to 20,000 pounds.  Follow @WhatcomFerry on Twitter for updates. Anyone without Twitter access can view the ferry’s Twitter stream on the ferry’s webpage at www.whatcomcounty.us/Ferry.

The Public Works Department would like to thank everyone in advance for their cooperation and patience while this issue is assessed and repaired. Safety is always our top priority!
