[ARCHIVED] Fire Marshal's New Year's Press Release

The Whatcom County Fire Marshal’s Office wants to remind all County residents to celebrate safely during the New Year’s Day holiday.   If you are planning on using your own fireworks, use only legal consumer fireworks and only during permitted times.

 Whatcom County only allows consumer fireworks to be discharged during the following dates and times:

  • December 31st Between 6 p.m. and 1 a.m. on January 1 of the subsequent year.

 Remember to check with your fire or law enforcement officials if you live within city limits, as each jurisdiction has different regulations on the use of fireworks.
