The Purchase of Development Rights (PDR) Program recently performed a Geographic Information System (GIS) analysis to highlight areas of high conservation value across Whatcom County. This landscape analysis was completed to address the six goals of the PDR program: Agriculture, Forests, Ecosystems, Water, Climate, and Open Space.

In addition, the PDR Program also created a story map, which narrates this landscape analysis and the program’s goals. The completion of this analysis and story map is due to the hard work of the Purchase of Development Rights Oversight Committee and support from the Whatcom County Council to obtain funding.
