goatsrue2.sm

Noxious Weed Alert! There’s a new invasive weed in Whatcom County called Goatsrue (Galega officinalis). We need your help finding this plant.

Goatsrue is officially listed on the County, State and Federal Noxious Weed Lists and is currently found in only three counties in Washington State. Goatsrue displaces native and beneficial plants and is toxic to humans and livestock. It’s very difficult to remove once established. Goatsrue is sometimes used as an ornamental but is now illegal to buy, sell or transport in Washington State. If you have seen this plant, please report it to the Whatcom County Noxious Weed Program at 360-778-6234. Read the Weed Alert for more information on how to identify this plant.
