[ARCHIVED] Lummi Island Ferry Outage Update

The ferry remains out of service due to a steering system issue. Travelers should expect the outage to continue at least through tomorrow, Sunday, Aug. 1. On-site mechanics are unable to repair the boat and specialists from Seattle will arrive later tonight to assess and begin repairs. A private vessel is offering passenger service near the ferry dock this evening, Saturday, July 31. This private vessel is offering its services to those who wish to transit between Lummi Island and the mainland, but it is not affiliated with Whatcom County Public Works.
