Whatcom County's Maintenance and Operations crew will construct stormwater improvements on the Birch Bay neighborhood roads of Comfort Lane and Henley Street. These improvements include a culvert and catch basin replacement under Comfort Lane, a catch basin replacement along Merle Place, and a new rock splash pad for the storm pipe in the ravine at the north end of Henley Street.

• Work will start Monday, August 16, and is anticipated to be complete by August 24. However, weather and other factors could affect the project schedule and hours.
• Approximate working hours are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM weekdays.
• Comfort Lane will close August 16-August 19 and August 23-24, except to local traffic, between Merle Place and Henley Street.
• Henley Street will be close August 16-August 19 and August 23-24, except to local traffic, from Comfort Lane to the dead end of Henley Street.
• Traffic will be reduced to one lane with flagged traffic control along Merle Place and Henley Street on Monday, August 23, and Tuesday, August 24. Drivers should expect minor delays.
