[ARCHIVED] Update on the airport testing site: Dec. 30

Update on the airport testing site today, Dec. 30: the site is run by our testing partner, Northwest Laboratory. They are making decisions about whether the site is open or closed based on conditions at the site. We will update you as soon as we hear of any changes.

The City of Bellingham and the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office asks that everyone stay off the roads today, if at all possible. If you have an appointment at the airport site, we ask that you cancel your appointment on http://testdirectly.com and stay home.

We are seeing a huge surge of COVID-19 cases right now, even with this week’s testing site closures. If you have COVID-19 symptoms or if you’ve been exposed to COVID-19, please assume that you are infected and stay home for 5 days. If you don’t have symptoms on day 5, wear a mask around others for another 5 days and keep monitoring for symptoms.

We know that this is a challenging time for many people in our community. Please be patient and kind with testing site staff and schedulers, who are working very hard to get people in and tested.
