Public Works - Lummi Island Ferry and Roadways

[ARCHIVED] Ferry dry dock webpage updated with schedule, parking maps, and shuttle information

The Whatcom Chief will be out of service for dry dock repairs and maintenance starting the morning of Friday, May 6. The boat is expected to return to service on Saturday, May 21. The return date is always tentative and subject to change. The dry dock webpage will be updated as additional information becomes available.

Schedule:

  • Thursday, May 5: Last day to move your car between the island and the mainland. 
  • Friday, May 6: Dry dock begins, Whatcom Chief out of service. Passenger-only ferry provides transit between Gooseberry Point and Lummi Island. 
  • Saturday, May 21: No ferry service at all until the Whatcom Chief returns late in the evening. The return date is always tentative and subject to change. This page will be updated and email notifications sent if the schedule changes.
