[ARCHIVED] Birch Bay Drive Pavement Rehabilitation Project Update

The Whatcom County Engineering Division wishes to announce that the Birch Bay Drive Pavement Rehabilitation Project (Jackson Rd to Shintaffer Rd), originally scheduled to be completed during the summer of 2022, has been delayed until 2023. This project was planned to repair damaged sections of Birch Bay Drive from the Berm construction efforts of 2020 and 2021 and several damaging storm events from 2018 to the present.

Due to prioritizing major emergency projects from the November 2021 flood events and staffing shortages, we will regrettably be moving the Birch Bay Drive Pavement Rehabilitation Pavement Project back, for expected completion in summer of 2023. However, we are still trying to complete the paving on Harborview Road by end of summer this year, 2022, if at all possible.
