Now's the Time to Prepare for Smoke Season

Now is the time to prepare for smoke season! Do not wait until unhealthy air is in the forecast because you risk not being able to find what you need. Here are some things to do now to prepare for smoke season later this summer:

  • Stock up on N95 and similar high-quality masks. Fabric and cloth masks do not protect you from particulates in the air caused by wildfires.
  • Get the air filters you need for your furnace, purifier or box fan. Learn how to make a box fan filter at https://bit.ly/3I1S3VE . Or buy an air purifier if you can afford one.
  • Make plans now for indoor activities for kiddos on days when air quality is “unhealthy for sensitive groups” or worse.
