The Whatcom County Auditor’s Office, Election Division, is seeking volunteers to write a statement to appear in the November 8, 2022 General Election Local Voters’ Pamphlet for the following ballot measures:
- City of Lynden - Renewal of Sales and Use Tax for Transportation Improvements, statement against needed.
According to Revised Code of Washington 29A.32.280, districts proposing the measures are responsible for appointing committees to write arguments for and against each measure. These districts have not appointed all committees to write arguments on the measures, so the County Auditor is seeking individuals to serve on those committees.
The General Election Local Voters’ Pamphlet includes official ballot titles, explanatory statements, statements for and against, and rebuttals.
Committee members are required to be residents of the district in order to draft arguments and at least one person must be willing to be named in the voters’ pamphlet as a member of the committee.
Interested parties should contact the Elections Division by email, [email protected], or call (360) 778-5102 no later than 12:00 pm on August 8. Statements are due by 4:30 pm on August 8, 2022.
Resolutions submitted by the districts for each measure are at https://www.whatcomcounty.us/3890/2022-Ballot-Resolutions page on the Whatcom County Auditor’s website.
