[ARCHIVED] COVID-19 Testing Moves from Bellingham Airport to Avero Diagnostics Drive-Through

Today, Aug. 31, our testing partner, Avero Diagnostics (formerly Northwest Laboratory) will end drive-through COVID-19 tests at the Bellingham International Airport community site. Avero Diagnostics  will continue to offer this service at their Meridian Street location. This change is due to decreased demand.

“The Airport community testing site was always intended to be a temporary facility” said Cindy Hollinsworth, Communicable Disease and Epidemiology Manager, Whatcom County Health Department. “At our peak last January, we tested over 5,000 people in a week. With the increased availability of at-home test kits, changes in travel requirements and other options, we’ve seen a significant decrease in the number of people using the community testing site. Avero Diagnostic’s main drive-through lab can serve the current demand for community testing.”

The Avero Diagnostics Drive-Thru lab at 3548 Meridian Street, Suite 101 in Bellingham will continue to offer testing by appointment. Visit TestDirectly.com to schedule an appointment or call 360-527-4592 if you need assistance. Testing hours at the Meridian Street facility are:

  • Monday - Friday 12:30 - 4:30
  • Saturday - Sunday 12:00 - 1:00

You can order free at-home tests in the mail from sayyescovidhometest.org to keep at your home if you have symptoms or were exposed.
