Whatcom Residents Invited to Share Opinions and Experiences around Immunization in Online Survey

We want to understand your feelings and experiences around vaccines, and we have created a survey for you to share your opinions with us. This survey is open to anyone in Whatcom County who is 18 or older. It is completely anonymous and takes about five minutes to complete.

Our survey is about experiences and feelings around all recommended vaccines, including for diseases like tetanus, whooping cough, flu, and yes, even COVID-19. The link lets you take the survey in English or Spanish.

“There are a lot of preventable illnesses out there, and these illnesses are preventable because we have a vaccine for them,” said Alexus Kim, Community Health Specialist overseeing the project. “Our ultimate goal is for everyone to be healthier by reducing the number of people who are sickened by preventable diseases and increasing access to vaccines for people who want them. If, for example, we hear from survey respondents who lack health insurance or transportation to a vaccine clinic, those are barriers to health access that we want to know about and guide our work toward addressing.”

This survey is part of our commitment to asking for, listening to, and utilizing the feedback and insights of our residents, customers, and stakeholders. With this survey, we hope to learn about the current utilization of vaccine services in Whatcom County, why people make the choices that they do, and barriers to vaccine access. The information collected will be used to inform future Whatcom County Health and Community Services immunization project planning and service delivery.

If you have questions about the content of the survey, send an email to Alexus Kim at [email protected]. If you have any questions about the security of your responses or how we might use the information you provide, contact the WCHCS Health Information and Assessment Supervisor, Amy Hockenberry, at [email protected].
