The Whatcom Chief will extend its regular fueling outage today by an additional hour, pausing ferry service from 12:30-2:30 pm. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. 

During our routine maintenance inspections yesterday, mechanics discovered a severe leak in a hydraulic cylinder that operates the apron at the Lummi Island terminal. A repair must be made as quickly as possible. Because the Whatcom Chief is already breaking for re-fueling today from 12:30 pm-1:20 pm, we will extend the break an additional hour until 2:30 pm to service the apron. We anticipate the ferry returning to full service upon completion.
