[ARCHIVED] Auditor Seeks For and Against Committees for FPD 16 Tax Levy

Whatcom County Fire Protection District 16 has submitted a resolution for the August 1 Primary Election ballot authorizing a regular property tax levy of $1.00 per $1,000 of assessed valuation.  The District has been unable to identify either a “For” committee or an “Against” committee to write statements for the Local Voters’ Pamphlet.

The Auditor is required to make an effort to identify interested individuals and appoint them to such committees to write statements for the Local Voters’ Pamphlet.   There is a short window of time to allow for this. Persons interested in submitting a statement in favor of the proposition and against the proposition should contact Debbie Adelstein, County Auditor, at (360) 778-5105, as soon as possible.  Statements both for and against must be submitted by May 17, 2017.
