Effective July 23, document recording fees will increase $1.00. The State Legislature passed House Bill 1594 increasing the surcharge collected by county auditors to fund the Washington State competitive grant program, attorney general’s consultation program, and state archivist’s training services. This additional fee of $1.00 will be added to all recorded documents. The increase does not apply to documents exempted from a recording fee under state law.
The new basic fee to record a one-page document will cost $74.00. A one-page document involving an assignment of deed of trust, substitution of trustee, and appointment of trustee will cost $16.00. The first page of a deed of trust will be $75.00. Each additional page will be $1.00.
