[ARCHIVED] Notice of August 1, 2017 Primary Election

Registration Deadlines: Monday, July 3, is the deadline for mail-in registrations or address changes to be eligible to vote in the August 1 Primary Election.  July 3 also is the deadline for online registrations or address changes at  

After July 3, voters not currently registered in Washington State can register in person until 4:30 p.m., Monday, July 24, at the Whatcom County Auditor’s Office, Whatcom County Courthouse, 311 Grand Ave., Suite 103, Bellingham.    

The election will be conducted entirely by mail and ballots will be mailed to registered voters at their mailing address on record only in the following precincts:

Precincts 124, 125, 130, 135, 136, 139–183, 201–269, 301–304, 401, 402, 601–611, 701, and 801.

Voters Requiring Assistance & Other Information:  Voting assistance for elderly and disabled individuals is available at the Whatcom County Auditor’s Office or call (360) 778-5102.  We gladly accept relay calls. Election and voter registration information, registration forms, and election ballots are also available at the Auditor’s Office.  

Voters’ Pamphlet:  For a listing of candidates and the Fire Protection District 16 ballot measure refer to the Whatcom County Auditor’s website at to view the online voters’ guide.  Voters’ pamphlets will be mailed to household addresses and available at the Auditor’s Office beginning July 12th .

Meeting Dates & Times:  Open public meetings for the August 1 Primary Election will be held on the dates and times listed below at the Whatcom County Courthouse, 311 Grand Ave., Suite 103, Bellingham.  Meeting dates, times, and/or locations are subject to change; please see our website at or call (360) 778-5102 for updated information.  We gladly accept relay calls.

July 11, 10:00 am:  Logic & Accuracy Test of the Accessible Voting Units

July 12 –Aug. 14, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm:  Processing of Ballots

July 27, 2:00 pm:  Logic & Accuracy Test of the 400C Optical Scan Readers

Aug. 10, 2:00 pm:  Canvassing Board Meeting/Signature Reviews, Auditor’s Office Conference Room

Aug. 15, 3:00 pm:  Canvassing Board Meeting/Certification of Election, Auditor’s Office Conference Room
